How to Quit Porn

Deep Clean

Review this week’s message.

Key Scriptures

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full- grown, gives birth to death.
James 1:13-15 NIV

For the lips of an immoral woman are as sweet as honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil. But in the end she is as bitter as poison, as dangerous as a double-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.
Proverbs 5:3-5 NLT

People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Proverbs 28:13 NLT

Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
1 Corinthians 6:18 NLT

She caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.
Genesis 39:12 NIV

  • Which part of the message was most impactful for you and why?
  • Has confessing a sin ever changed your life for the better? If so, what happened?
  • What would it look like to flee from temptation rather than trying to fight it? How would that change things for you as you wait for your spiritual injury to heal?
Start sharing. Choose a question to create openness.
  • If you’re struggling with addiction or sin, what’s a first step you could take toward confessing to someone?

Start praying. Be bold and pray with power.

Father, thank You for being with us in the middle of our addictions and struggles. As we confess our sins and flee from temptation, help us to trust that You’re working within us and helping us turn away from these struggles once and for all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
