What are you fighting for?

Maturity

Parents, use this discussion guide to help you connect with your Switch student about owning their own spiritual growth. This month, your student will be working through a special printed Student Guide to work through some of the thoughts from the teaching. Encourage them to make good use of those and invite them to share their journey with you.

January 30

What are you fighting for? Fight for wisdom.
Key Verses: James 1:2-5 NIV, James 1:22-25 NIV, Proverbs 1:20-33 NIV, Proverbs 4:6-8 NIV YouVersion Bible Plan: Act Up

  • How are your SMART goals going? (This month we’ve led students to create written goals in their small groups.)

  • Would you say you’re actively growing wiser and closer to God? Why or why not? (In this discussion, use language that says that you believe in them to own this and that the ball is in their court.)

  • What are some signs you hope I start seeing that indicate new levels of maturity in your life? (Use this input to recognize and encourage the growth while being careful not to use them to shame them when they trip up.)
