Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • What in your life are you most proud of?
  • How can pride be positive? How can it be destructive?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.

  • Why do you think your enemy wants you full of pride?
  • How easy is pride to see in others? How easy is it to see in yourself? Why do you think pride is this way?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.

  • Pastor Craig said, “You may never be more vulnerable than when you are full of pride.” How have you experienced this?
  • What are you trying to do without God?
  • Have you ever tried to use God to accomplish your will? Share a story.
  • What’s an area of your life where you need to humble yourself before God? What would that look like for you?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

God, we ask You to humble us. We want to trade our wills for Your will. We submit to You and resist the enemy’s schemes to make us think we can handle life on our own. We love You and need You, God. You are so good. Thank You. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • Ask someone who’s close to you to tell you about any blindspots to pride you may have in your life.
